The manager of the Lakeside Inn and Casino race and sports book at Lake Tahoe admitted in District Court that he stole 21-thousand-565 dollars from the casino by cashing unpaid tickets.

43-year-old Ronald Eugene Tipton of Carson City, pleaded guilty in the Minden courtroom to conspiracy to commit grand theft.

He faces up to one year in Douglas County Jail and a two-thousand-dollar fine at his sentencing May first.

Tipton said after spending three days in Douglas County Jail following his arrest in December, he agreed to pay restitution and accept a lower charge in a plea agreement with the District Attorney's office.

He initially was charged with grand theft for the incidents, which occurred from October of 2005 through February of 2006.
