UNLV heads on in NCAA Tournament, Nevada heads home

RENO (AP) - U-N-L-V is heading to the N-C-Double-A's round of
16, but Nevada is heading home.
The seventh-seeded Runnin' Rebels defeated Wisconsin 74 to 68 in
Chicago to advance to the semifinals of the Midwest Regional on
Friday in Saint Louis against third-seeded Oregon.
Seventh-seeded Nevada was bounced from the tournament after
losing a second-round game to second-seeded Memphis State 78 to 62
in New Orleans.
The Wolf Pack were shut out the final six minutes and 17 seconds
after drawing within two.
Nick Fazekas, the three-time Western Athletic Conference player
of the year, missed his first six shots but finished seven-of-18
for 20 points with seven rebounds.
Kevin Kruger connected on three straight three-pointers late in
the second half and the Runnin' Rebels rallied to beat Wisconsin.
Wendell White led U-N-L-V with 22 points, followed by Kruger
with 16 points and seven assists.
