STOREY COUNTY, NV - A Lockwood woman is dead after being brutally beaten Sunday evening.
Storey County Sheriff’s Deputies say Eileen Pruitt, 47, died from her injuries after 22-year-old Ryan Bonnett allegedly beat her when she denied him a cigarette.
Pruitt was taken to Renown Medical Center where she died of her injuries.
A friend described Pruitt as a popular woman who lived with her three dogs and her disabled father, who was dependent on our care.
Bonnett is being held without bail on suspicion of open murder. Police records show he was arrested in Reno in 2007 with a group of other men on suspicion of resisting arrest after they fled a vehicle during a traffic stop.
Officials say this is the first Storey County homicide in years.

To the "Anonymous Lockwood" spelling bee contest loser who stated, "This lady was a nut job and once tried to attack me. she nodout on drugs herself," you have unequivocally proven yourself to be a brain-addled misogynistic druggie, not only in your absurd accusation that this partially disabled and popular woman attacked you, ostensibly for no reason, but also in revealing that you are the type of redneck who believes women who have been raped were asking for it. Your undisguised rancor and blatant lie are clearly the result of your once having asked her out and she, being an intelligent woman who would hardly be interested in a man who couldn't even spell "no doubt", turned you down. The only thing she attacked was your pride. Your inexcusable anonymous statements are proof enough of your pusillanimous nature, lack of sensibility and empathy and most of all, your misguided belief that you can be accused of passing for a human being.
Some people are just born bad regardless of how they were raise. This jerk needs to be put to death. The trial should be interesting. We'll probably hear about how his dad didn't buy him ice cream when he was a little kid, or something similiar. If the defense will claim that he was high on drugs, no problem. Get him high on drugs first and THEN put him to death.
Parents can set boundaries WITHOUT hitting/spanking their child(ren). When parents resort to spanking their child over the little things, they are hardly in control themselves.
