Two girls who became lost while snowboarding at a Tahoe ski resort were found cold but safe late Thursday.
The girls, ages 9 and 11, from Suisun City, were reported missing earlier in the day when they failed to meet their parents at a prearranged location at Northstar Ski Resort.
The sheriff's office said rescuer discovered a pair of small footprints in deep snow near an out-of-bounds lookout chair shortly after 9 p.m.
They followed the tracks and found the girls two hours later near a residential area.
Authorities said the youngest child suffered mild hypothermia and both were taken to a hospital for checkups.
