Washoe County teachers will get a 4.5 percent pay increase over the life of a 2-year contract approved by trustees.
The teachers will receive 2.5 percent retroactively for the current school year and 2 percent next year.
The school board also agreed to keep funding 40 percent of retirees' health insurance payments in the contract.
The pact was overwhelmingly approved last week by the Washoe Education Association. The vote ended the threat of arbitration after negotiations broke down late last year.
