Gibbons held a news conference at the Manadalay Bay hotel-casino in Las Vegas to kick off work by a new Nevada Military AdvocacyCommission.
Gibbons created the commission earlier this year to
marshal community support to protect Nevada's three main bases.
He's said the Nevada bases probably aren't among the 100 bases in jeopardy during a round of base closures the Pentagon is expected
in late 2005.
