Bio-diesel uses renewable resources such as vegetable oils and recycled restaurant greases that are chemically transformed into a clean-burning diesel fuel.
It's often combined with conventional diesel into a blend. Representatives held a conference at Lawlor Events Center...where the city and business leaders talked about the advantages of switching fuels.
They include improved air quality, followed by decreased dependency on foreign oil.
Biodiesel is a bit more expensive than petroleum fuels, but the federal and state governments offer tax incentives to encourage people to switch.
