Millenium Scholarship Changes Debated

Nevada's Interim Education Committee will look at
whether the state's Millennium Scholarship should be open to high
schools students who are not U-S citizens. Those in favor of
granting the scholarships to students who aren't U-S citizens say
to do otherwise would result in higher dropout rates or lower
skilled work force who can't contribute to the tax base. Opponents
say because the scholarship money is limited, it shouldn't go to
children of parents who broke the law to be here.
