A new Nevada law on dog-chaining begins October 1st.
Senate Bill 132 will make it illegal for dog owners to chain or tether their pets for more than 14 hours in a 24 hour period. Additionally, owners cannot use choke or prong collars on their dogs.
The law requires that restraints must allow the dog 12 feet of movement. Pens must also be appropriate for a dog’s size and breed.
Exceptions to the law have been made for dogs being treated by a veterinarian, boarding facilities, animal shelters, and for dog rescue operations.

Why in the world would you tie your animal up for 14hrs?? If they do not have a fenced yard to stay in while the owner is not home, they should be inside, not on a chain!
