A brothel owner who bought the buildings and logo from Nevada's infamous Mustang Ranch bordello said moving the buildings to their new location may resume next week.

Storey County commissioners Tuesday approved the transport of the Mustang buildings to the Wild Horse Canyon Ranch and Spa, located off Interstate 80 about 20 miles east of Reno.

Wild Horse owner Lance Gilman bought the buildings on eBay from the U.S. Bureau and Land Management for $145,000. He started moving the buildings last month before a court order stopped the project. The restraining order that blocked the move was later lifted.

Once the buildings are moved, Gilman has nine months to decide what to do with them, commissioners said. Gilman, a Reno-based developer, has said he wants to turn the Mustang buildings into a museum.

The federal government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in 1999 after its operators were convicted of racketeering.

Gilman also faces a court hearing on the future of his Wild Horse Canyon Ranch, a 30,000-square foot brothel near the Patrick exit off I-80.

Last month the Nevada Supreme Court ruled that Gilman's brothel permit was invalid and returned the case to Carson City District Court Judge William Maddox.

No date has been set for the hearing.

Construction of the Wild Horse was allowed to proceed in 2002 when Maddox denied a request by brothel opponents to stop work on the bordello.

The Wild Horse is opposed by the operators of businesses in a nearby industrial park who also object to relocating the Mustang buildings to the site of the new brothel.
