Snow Advisory In Effect for Sierra

A snow advisory remains in effect through 10:00 Wednesday morning for much of the Sierra, Washoe County and the Carson City area.

The stretch of US Interstate 80 west of the California-Nevada line was reopened Tuesday morning after being closed last night for more than 12 hours. It closed again Tuesday afternoon, reopening about 4:00 Wednesday morning.

Another six to 10 inches is expected at Lake Tahoe and more in the upper elevations. But only another inch to three inches is expected by mid-morning on the valley floors of western Nevada.

Up to seven feet of new snow has been recorded at Tahoe-area ski
resorts since Saturday.
