A car chase on interstate 80- lands one man in jail, and his passenger, who police say is the driver's mother, in the hospital.
According to Nevada's highway patrol, a trooper stopped Steven Alexander McGaboc at Gold Ranch before two Saturday afternoon.
N-H-P says the trooper called for backup after noticing the man's passenger, an elderly, woman was severely bruised.
The trooper asked the man to get out of the car, he refused and left the scene. N--H-P says the pursuit went into California, where highway patrol stopped the car at the weigh station near truckee.
N-H-P says McGaboc will face felony charges in California first for ramming a C-H-P car and for eluding law enforcement. Here in Nevada McGaboc is looking a felony charges of eluding law enforcement, domestic battery, and elder abuse.
N-H-P believes the woman in the car was McGaboc's mother. She is being treated at Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee.
