An investigation is under way into the shooting death of a 36-year-old Carson City woman by sheriff's deputies.
Sheriff Ken Furlong says the woman was shot after she confronted deputies who were called to her Marian Avenue home late last night on a report of a domestic dispute.
Furlong says the woman pointed a gun with a laser at deputies. After she refused requests to put down the weapon she was and killed. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name was not released. A man inside the home was detained by deputies.
Neighbors we spoke with said the area is a very quiet, family oriented neighborhood.
