A snowmobiler has been killed by an
avalanche in Utah and two snowmobilers are reported missing in a
snow slide in Montana.
The Utah man was in a party of three but was the only one caught
in the mountain avalanche Saturday in Wasatch County. The sheriff's
office says the man's friends dug him out but he died after being
flown to the University of Utah hospital.
The Utah Avalanche Center lists the avalanche risk this weekend
as "considerable," meaning natural avalanches are possible and
slides triggered by human activity are probable.
In Montana, authorities are looking for two snowmobilers who've
been missing since an avalanche Saturday. A third person, who
narrowly escaped being buried, managed to walk out, but it took him
hours to call for help.
