RENO, Nev. (AP) - A federal panel has rejected a request for a stay of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's plans to remove all mustangs from a large swath of eastern Nevada.

Horse defender Christine Jubic of Albany, N.Y., last month filed a petition for an order to halt the roundup with the Interior Board of Land Appeals until it could consider her appeal challenging the roundup.

The board rejected her request, but her appeal is still pending.

The BLM last month started removing 350 horses southwest of Ely and plans to begin removing 270 more in October near Caliente.

The roundups affect all wild horses in an area around Ely covering 1.4 million acres.

BLM officials said the horses are being removed because studies found insufficient forage and water to maintain healthy wild horses and rangelands.

Get rid of those things! They are a NON-NATIVE species that do NOT belong here, they NEVER have lived here until settlers came, and they are a bane to the environment! KILL THEM ALL!

Mankind is so stupid as to do this these horses have lived here and they do much better than mankind ,who screws everthing up. Nevada advertises Wild horses as one of the sights to see, WILD, not in a corral. Wild is the key word here.Don't mess things up and ruin the beautiful earth that god made for all of us to enjoy.Man or beast, we all have our rights just as these horses do, I have never seen the world so screwd up as it is today, thanks to all our policians who don't listen to the people who vote for them. They need to clean house from the president right down to the bottom. Why dont we round people in the BLM and see how they would like to be caged up, plus the BLM is not supposed to sell land. This world is going down to a third world which is not what my dad fought for in WWII. It makes me sick to see what man has done from Washighton on down. These horses were born free and should stay FREE. Thank you
