The pilot of the plane found today was 50 year old Steve Brown of Carson City.
Brown was one of those types who are seemingly born with aviation gasoline in their veins.
His love of flying took him from flying freight to become a pilot for American Airlines. But his passion was air racing. He was constantly tinkering with his home built Pitts Special to get the most speed and performance from the little bi-plane. He was making a test flight when he disappeared late Monday afternoon.
According to his close friends, Brown knew the risks of flying and accepted them. He and his plane were found early today near Marlette Lake.
