A Carson City pilot is feared missing this afternoon. 50-year-old Steve Brown took off from the Carson City Airport Tuesday afternoon and hasn't returned.
Witnesses at the airport say Brown told them he was going to fly over the Carson River and head back.
Brown's wife found his car still parked at the hangar.
Carson City Sheriff's Search and Rescue Crews are being aided by the Nevada National Guard in the search for Brown. They tell News Channel 8 that Brown was flying an experimental plane that was not equipped with a transponder.
At this time, there are have been no reports of any fires or loud explosions that could indicate a crash.
We have a crew in Carson City and will bring you the latest on this story as it develops.
