One man was fatally shot and another man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound in what police are calling related incidents in downtown Reno.
A motive was not yet been determined, but police say they're investigating the shooting death as a homicide.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
Police were called yesterday afternoon to the parking garage at the Lakemill Lodge, where they found the homicide victim. At about the same time, officers were sent to a Reno hospital, where the other man sought treatment.
The streets surrounding Lakemill Lodge were shut down and some
Lakemill residents waited for hours to get into their units.
Residents say it was only the latest in a string of shootings in the area, including one that left 37-year-old George Kelly dead on November 18th. He was found next to his bicycle with a gunshot wound to the head after an argument with another man.
17-year-old Heather Woodward says the shootings have become "a
normal thing" and they don't scare residents anymore.
