CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A Carson City man accused of shooting asheriff's deputy during a drug raid says the shooting was a
mistake.

Mark Fiddler, 50, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
in the shooting of Deputy Joshua Stagliano.

The shooting occurred early Thursday as Stagliano and 10 other
officers tried to serve a search warrant relating to alleged
methamphetamine sales at Fiddler's home.

Stagliano, a five-year veteran of the force, underwent surgery
Thursday after a bullet shattered a bone in his left wrist.
"This is all a mistake," Fiddler told Judge Robey Willis
during his arraignment Friday. "I didn't know it was sheriffs in
my house."

The judge then advised Fiddler not to make any further
statements. Lillian Meyer, 42, who also was at the home, is being held on suspicion of possession of meth for sale.

Fiddler awaits a Feb. 16 preliminary hearing in Carson Justice
Court. A Feb. 15 date was set for Meyer's preliminary hearing.
