These days you’ll find Saunya Bolton working hard with her mustang on the basics out at the Lemmon Valley arena. You'll find her there most days now because she has less than a month away to getting her horse in proper show condition.

“A lot of work. A lot of work. It’s like every day. I might try to lope him, we'll see how he does,” says Saunya as she rides past us in the arena.

The horse must learn all the gates, walk, trot and canter, as well as transitions between those gates.

I’ts not easy, but with prompting from Saunya's legs, hands and seat she tries to put the horse in the proper body position for himself so he can carry her cleanly across the arena. As Saunya's friend put it, the training just got tougher for the mustang, but at least he'll have a new name for this new time in his life.

“We are calling him Il Divo,”

And that means I ask?

“Movie Star,” replies Saunya
