It all started, around noon, when officers say she threatened to kill her husband and a doctor.
Sparks police spotted her car near his work and attempted to stop her. Gulino led officers on a short pursuit that ended in a crash of an innocent driver.
Gulino sped off where police found her car outside her Donner Springs Village condo. They say they found two guns, ammunition, and alcohol near the car.
She barricaded herself inside for four hours. After talks broke down, commanders told SWAT officers to fire twelve tear gas grenades inside her condo to force her out.
When Gulino wouldn't come out, they forced their way in and found her in a closet.
Lt. Jon Catalano, RPD, "She was curled into a ball. Her eyes were irritated by the gas. But, otherwise she was cooperative and just waiting for us to find her."
Gulino was cuffed and checked by medics for possible injuries. As a precaution, she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Neighbors and friends are still dumbfounded about what unfolded and the circumstances leading up to the whole ordeal.
Jeanne, Neighbor, "She's a nice lady. We're shocked."
