Police Question Suspects in Fatal Sparks Shooting

Sparks police continue to investigate a fatal shooting in a K-Mart parking lot. Investigators found the vehicle they were seeking and have questioned several people of interest but so far, have made no arrests.

The victim of yesterday's shooting was a 32-year-old Hispanic man but his name is still being withhold pending notification of family. He was shot to death around four o'clock yesterday afternoon outside the store on Oddie Boulevard.

Police say the shooting is not believed to be gang related. One possible suspect in the case is described only as Hispanic man in his 40s.

Police located a dark colored 1999 Dodge Durango that was seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed shortly after the shooting. Police found that vehicle several blocks away in the 2300 block of Jessie Way.

Neighbors questioned near the Jessie Way home say it was a notorious party house and was known for loud music and people entering and exiting the home at all hours of the day. Some neighbors say they wouldn't be surprised if the shooting was drug-related. Police say they are uncertain, but the matter is being looked into.

Any one with information is urged to telephone Sparks police at 353-2231.
