New City Counsil Offices

The Sparks City Council is getting some new digs. The Council approved a contract with Farr Construction to spend 50,000 dollars to build council offices in the basement of city hall.

The construction includes sprinkler upgrades, wall partitions and rerouting mechanical and electrical extensions in the area occupied by the public works department before it moved.

The 3-0 vote, with Councilmen John Mayer and Phil Salerno absent, means the five council members won't have to continue sharing space near the city manager's office.

Council members said they sit so close they run the risk of violating the state open meeting law.
