GARDNERVILLE (AP) - Two Gardnerville residents have been killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 88 in Douglas County.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says a preliminary investigation shows Gina Harrison, 35, made a left-hand turn onto the highway from Kimmerling Road into the path of a northbound semi truck driven by Rex Barker, 52, of Dayton.
Both Harrison and a passenger in her car, Jason Walker, 32, were pronounced dead at the scene late last night. Barker escaped injury.
The semi came to rest in a nearby field, while the car ended up on the highway.
Troopers say it's unknown if alcohol was a factor in the accident that shut down the highway. The crash happened Friday at 10:25 pm.
