LAS VEGAS (AP) - A former Clark County School District administrator accused of embezzling nearly $300,000 from an Adult English Language Acquisition program has pleaded not guilty.
Priscilla Rocha entered her plea Monday. A 52-count indictment accuses her of falsifying time cards and directing the money to co-defendants for personal use.
She's also accused of buying computer equipment with district money and giving it to schools in Mexico, and charging students for dictionaries, then pocketing the cash for herself.
Co-defendants Jerome Rocha and Donny Placencia also pleaded not guilty Monday. Two other co-defendants did not enter pleas because they are awaiting court-appointed attorneys.
Police raided district offices in March after a tip about possible misuse of funds.
Rocha retired from the district in April. The program she led offers services including adult English classes.
