The Nevada Department of Transportation is preparing for a storm predicted to hit the Truckee Meadows Wednesday night.
KOLO reported snow could reach the valley floor.
NDOT said part of the preparation will involve spraying a salt water solution on roadways.
NDOT said very rapidly freezing water, that made for a slippery drive last Thursday, is not expected with this new storm.
However, NDOT said drivers will likely need to slow down as conditions require.
NDOT is also preparing trucks to spread salt and sand. A news release from the City of Reno said it has 19 dump trucks and 50 drivers available if needed.
NDOT said while highways will be the top priority, crews will also be dispersed throughout the area.
For current road conditions in Nevada, dial 511. In California, call 1-800-GAS-ROAD.
