The journalism school was just settling into having a new Dean when the unexpected became incredibly real.
Faculty and staff, chose to remember happier times like graduation, one-on-one talks with students, and other candid moments with professors.
The Reynolds School of Journalism was small enough that Dean Campbell was able to make his thumbprint in a short time, just two and half years. Students say he was a hands-on Dean...and understood the importance of media and technology.
Professor, Warren Lerude, showed us all the emails he got from friends of the Dean, who wanted to send their well-wishes and support for the school during this trying time.
Campbell was in the process of re-shaping the undergraduate curicullum. And, deeply involved with the new graduate school.
Colleagues say his legacy will live on but the school has lost its leader.
