Fire teams from East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts, Carson City Fire Department, Nevada Division of Forestry, U.S. Forest Service, and Douglas County 9-1-1 emergency services personnel.
Firefighters say, this training is crucial because when it's time for a real fire, there's no room for mistakes. Firefighters focused on wildland fire suppression and tactics at the James Lee Park in the Indian Hills area of Douglas County.
The company officer serves as the eyes of the operation, leading crews safely to complete the objectives. On the ground, crews work to contain and control the mock fire from spreading.
Firefighters do several training exercises throughout fire season, and want the public to know every effort is being made to safety and quickly suppress fires. Fire season typically runs from June through mid-October.
