RENO - The Washoe County Health Department is confirming several cases of norovirus at the Peppermill Hotel-Casino in Reno.
Spokeswoman Judy Davis says there are about forty people with norovirus symptoms, and she believes they're all hotel guests that were part of the same party.
Davis says there is a handful of confirmed cases, and that the Peppermill is working with the health department to make sure cleanliness protocol is being followed on the property.
The norovirus is actually a group of viruses that cause the stomach flu. Symptoms usually include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and some stomach cramping, and it usually lasts just a couple of days. It is spread via eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated, touching contaminated surfaces, or having direct contact with a person who's infected.

My daughter (5) also caught this virus while staying at the Peppermill also was not part of the party. So much for sparkling clean huh.
There was a similar outbreak at the peppermill's other properties in Wendover. Why isn't there more news coverage about this serious problem?
