Five Arrested in Los Angeles Store Hostage Drama

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say five people have been arrested for a holdup in which 14 people were held hostage for hours at a West Los Angeles clothing store.

Police Chief Charlie Beck announced Monday that two men and two women were arrested over the weekend in Southern California and a third man was arrested in Phoenix, Ariz.

The men are being held for robbery and the women are being held as accessories after the fact.

One employee was stabbed and another was sexually assaulted Friday in the takeover holdup at a Nordstrom Rack store in a mall near Los Angeles International Airport. The three-hour ordeal ended with a SWAT team rushing into the store and rescuing workers. The robbers had fled.

The getaway car was later found abandoned.
