GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) - Funeral services were held today for two of
the five victims of a suspected serial killer who's terrorized the community of Gaffney, S.C., for the past week.

Law enforcement officers provided security for mourners and relatives of an 83-year-old woman and her 50-year-old daughter. They were both found shot to death Wednesday in the elder woman's home. Hundreds of mourners attended their funeral at Gaffney's First Baptist Church. The minister urged them to keep the faith.

The killings began last weekend when the wife of a peach farmer found her husband shot dead in their rural home.

A 15-year-old girl died yesterday, two days after a shooting at the family business that killed her father.

Cherokee County Sheriff Bill Blanton says investigators believe the killings are linked. He's not saying what the connection is, but all the victims were shot. Authorities are searching for a male suspect.
