BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) - An official says the historic Boulder City Hotel is going to need a cash infusion of about $60,000 to make it through the summer.
Boulder City Museum and Historical Association chief Bill Ferrence says the recession has hurt the hotel's occupancy rates, leading to the financial crisis during the slow summer months.
Over the last 15 years, Ferrence has raised $3 million to renovate and restore the hotel to the way it was when it hosted movie stars and world leaders in the 1930s and 40s.
He says the hotel was on track to be self-sufficient, until the economy went bad.
Now he's appealing to donors, and says he has pledges of more than $10,000 so far.
