Autopsies have determined that a Gardnerville couple who died in a three-vehicle accident on Tuesday were victims of injuries.
It was initially thought that the 75-year-old driver, Marvin Kirk, might have suffered some kind of seizure. But Deputy Washoe County Coroner Sherry Johnson ruled that both Kirk and his 82-year-old wife Pauline died as a result of injuries received in the accident.
But she adds that with multiple injuries, it's sometimes hard to
determine if other causes were involved.
The accident occurred on US 395 at the north end of Minden and involved an SUV and a vehicle driven by Douglas County Sheriff's
Sergeant Tom Mezzetta. The driver of the S-U-V was treated and released and Mezzetta escaped injury.
