SPARKS, NV - Hand cycling, kayaking, sailing and adapted rock climbing will be available. People of all ages and ability levels are welcome to come out and try something new in a safe, fun environment. Participants are required to have a guardian sign a release form to take part.
Mark Wellman, a two-time Para-Olympian and nationally acclaimed author, filmmaker and motivational speaker, will join with members of Disabled Sports USA Far West, Sierra Nevada Community Sailing and Reno Mountain Sports to work with participants.
Wellman says, "it's important to give people with disabilities the opportunity to try something they thought they may never be able to do."
Shauna Nelson, Sparks Recreation Supervisor and coordinator of the event, says, "we want to make these sports possible for everyone."
