Shots Fired At Highway Construction Workers

Updated: Tue 10:04 PM, Sep 23, 2003

Work has always been a little hazardous for highway construction workers. The other night at the Spaghetti Bowl it was potentially deadly.

Construction workers are used to working at some risk from inattentive angry or drunk drivers.

Usually they don't have to worry about being shot at.

Two construction workers say shortly after midnight someone in a passing car pointed a handgun at them firing several times. The men dropped to the ground and were unhurt.

Police say there was no apparent motive for the shooting.

Police recovered several 9 mm casings at the scene. The vehicle is described only as a small or mid-sized car.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 dollar reward for information leading to arrest and prosecution. Once again, their number is 322-4900.
