The passenger count at Reno-Tahoe International Airport dipped slightly in August compared to the same month a year ago, airport officials said.
The airport served 850 fewer passengers in August than last year, a 0.2-percent drop.
Nationally, the number of people boarding planes decreased 4.8-percent in August, according to the Air Transport Association.
"The fact that we in Reno were flat I think is good," said Thomas Medland, director of marketing and air service development.
Through the first eight months of the year, the Reno airport has served 3.1 million people, 0.7-percent more than last year, airport officials said.
Southwest Airlines, Reno's largest carrier, has announced a string of new flights to begin in January. They include a Saturday-only flight to Ontario, Calif., which does not have direct service from Reno.
