A regional drug enforcement team seized more than $158,000 and a large cache of methamphetamine during an investigation that led to the arrest of one man, authorities said.
The suspect's name was not immediately released, but he was jailed Monday on $158,000 bail.
Police believe the man is a mid- to high-level dealer with sources from out of state. He is charged with two counts of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of trafficking, two counts of methamphetamine for sale and one count of possession of cocaine.
The man, in his mid-30s, was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of S. Virginia St. with 113.5 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $5,700, said Sgt. Dave Evans of the Regional Street Enforcement Team.
"It's a big win for our community in the sense that it hits him where it hurts, which is in his wallet," Evans said.
The Regional Street Enforcement Team is composed of officers from Reno, Sparks, Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the University of Nevada, Reno police.
Officers obtained permission from the man to search his home, and there found more drugs, including 1.8 grams of cocaine, most likely for recreational use, and the cash, Evans said.
Officers seized a total of 303.8 grams of methamphetamine. The methamphetamine and cocaine found at the home have a street value of $16,700, Evans said.
"We've had information on him for a little while," Evans said. "We've been working up the investigation and basically, through our investigation, got him to show up at the location with 113 grams, where we arrested him."
