A man accused of sexually assaulting two teen-age girls used religion to justify the crimes, Reno police said.

Raymond George, 55, was arrested Sept. 10 on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault of a minor and three counts of lewdness with a minor under 14.

On Tuesday, three others were also arrested.

Mary Smalley-George, the man's common-law wife, and Douglas and Marnie Moulton were arrested on suspicion of child neglect and endangerment.

Investigators said they found evidence of child sexual abuse during a search of George's home. They also said George believed the teenagers were his wives and that he was living in a cult.

Police Sgt. Kim Bradshaw said George used his interpretation of the Bible to convince the other three suspects that what he was doing was justified.
