They don't know if a power line snapped in Washoe Valley or a tree kept rubbing up against a line. The power company says there were also scattered outages at the National Weather Service, Golden Valley, and in East Reno.
Meteorologists report the highest wind gusts in the Reno foothills at 60 miles per hour. The winds are expected to die down for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but Sierra Pacific has extra crews on standby if there are any more weather related problems.
