Two teenagers are in custody tonight after allegedly setting off a chemical explosion at Carson City High School.
Carson sheriff Kenneth Furlong says while the explosion was no more than a pop, the chemicals mixed with medal in a plastic bottle left an acidic smell, leading school officials to call the fire department
Video cameras in the high school led investigators to the two 16 year old boys. Sheriff's say the reason the boys set off the explostion was to shut down the school for the day.
No one wasa injured during the incident and no damage has been reported. The 16 year olds were taken to juvenile hall on suspicion of causing a disturbance on school property nad possession of an explosive device.
