Was there a tornado in Eureka County on Tuesday? This photo supports the possibility.
Mike Glass was in the Crescent Valley area on Tuesday afteroon June 2nd... and took this photo near the Cortez Gold Mine. The photo was taken around 1:51pm on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Elko says there was a strong thunderstorm in the area at that time. But Nexrad radar didn't not indicate a rotational storm capable of producing a tornado... but they agree this picture certainly appears to be a funnel cloud.
The question is whether the funnel actually touched down to the ground. If it did touch down this would make it a tornado.
Thanks to Mike for sending us this great weather photo.
