Some consider Nevada one of the sunniest states in the country, and a local power company is hoping to harness some of that solar energy.
Sierra Pacific is installing a network of solar panels at its Reno office. The company said it will be the largest solar panel system in Northern Nevada. According to the company, 510 panels are being installed; generating enough energy to power all the lights in Sierra Pacific's five-story building.
Sierra Pacific also said it's offering rebates to customers who install solar technology. For more information, visit http://www.solargenerations.com/.
The new solar panel system can be seen off of Delucchi Lane in Reno.
