A man from Buhl, Idaho was killed when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding flipped over during an outing near Jarbidge, authorities said.
Community volunteers organized a search after Archie Thompson's wife reported him overdue Saturday afternoon, Elko County Sheriff Neil Harris said.
Thompson, 48, was found beneath his overturned ATV about seven miles from Jarbidge in a rugged area near a historic mine site, Harris said.
Authorities said Thompson apparently lost control of the vehicle and rolled backward. He was not wearing a helmet.
