Washoe County sheriff's detectives investigating a double killing in Sun Valley said Monday they suspect it was a murder-suicide stemming from an argument over a pending divorce.

The victims were identified as Wesley Laursen, 41, and his estranged wife, Lee Ann Laursen, 34.

Washoe County Sheriff Dennis Balaam said a preliminary investigation indicates both died from gunshot wounds. He said it appears the man shot his wife then turned the gun on himself.

Sheriff's deputies said they got a call at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday to check on a woman who had gone to a home north of Reno to meet with her estranged husband.

When no one answered the door, deputies said they entered the home in the 400 block of East Fourth Avenue and found the bodies of a man and a woman in a bedroom.

Authorities said that divorce papers and a court restraining order were found at the home.
