Everything from transportation to affordable housing, it was covered at tonight's Truckee Meadows Growth Task Force meeting.
They just hope county and city government leaders are listening...and taking notes.
18 months ago, a group of 23 men and women were asked, by the region's top re-development leaders, to bring a fresh perspective to growth.
They appear to be on the right track.
Stacey Crowley is an architect, she's lived here three years, and is vice-chair of the group.
She sees affordable housing as a big component to a thriving economy.
Crowley says we need to strike a balance.
A solution may be as simple as zoning relief or incentives.
Open space is another issue but one you wouldn't necessarily associate with growth.
Environmentalists say you most certainly should.
And, what better way for a healthy environment then creating more parks.
Or, at least, better managing the ones we already have.
Downtown revitalization was also a hot topic specifically how build and how we get people down there.
The group liked the T-O-D concept, or transit-oriented development, which is kind of like one-stop shopping.
Bus rapid transit, or light rail, takes you where you work, live, and play.
And, it doesn't have to be a motorized form of transportation.
The task force encouraged more bike paths and less traffic.
