4.3 Quake Rattles Far Northern California Coast

FORT BRAGG, Calif. (AP) - No damage or injuries have been reported after a 4.3 magnitude earthquake rattled a coastal area in far Northern California.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, July 8th about three miles northwest of Fort Bragg in Mendocino County. Initially the earthquake had been reported as a 4.2 magnitude quake, but the USGS upgraded the quake after it was reviewed by a seismologist.

A Fort Bragg police dispatcher says there was no damage. Police did receive calls from city residents about the quake.

Fort Bragg is about 140 miles north of San Francisco.
