The McQueen High School band is headed to Hollywood to perform in the 72nd annual Hollywood Christmas Spectacular.
The event that attracts celebrities and an estimated 1 million spectators takes place Thanksgiving weekend and kicks off Southern California's holiday season.
"We'll perform four times in four days," band director Rick Moffit said. "Although we're not going to be evaluated by judges, we want to perform at a high level to entertain the audience."
Parade officials said 40 bands from around the country applied to participate, and 20 were invited to attend.
The band will travel by bus to Los Angeles on Nov. 26 and return Dec. 1.
McQueen's 115-member band won the large band division at the Nevada state championship earlier this month for the second year in a row.
It marked the seventh title in the school's 21-year history.
McQueen also won the Gov.'s Cup, which goes to the school from Nevada with the highest overall points in all band divisions.
