The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is now treating this as homicide case based on the findings of an autopsy. The autopsy revealed that the body is that of a male, between the ages of 30 and 50. Positive identification of the body has not been determined and no further results are being released.
KOLO-TV reported the men who discovered the body saw a "skull," a "boot," and the rest "wrapped in a tarp."
Wednesday, the body was removed from the mine. Forensic investigators and Hasty Team members with training in mine rescue were also on the scene Wednesday. The mine, called the "Antelope Mine," is about 20 miles north of Reno off Highway 395.
