A mother is hiking across America with her daughter to help benefit the program that saved her life. Robin Grapa and Patty Laatsch's nine month charity trek is to raise awareness for bone marrow diseases.
Their travels began in Deleware on February 4th. Tonight, over 4,500 miles later, the pair are in Northern Nevada. By the time Grapa and Laatsch reach their destination in Pointe Reyes, California, the women will have travelled 5,057 miles, the equivalent of 193 marathons back to back.
They hope by the time they get there that they will have raised one million dollars for bone marrow research. If you would like more information on their hike, or would like to help their cause click on this link
