I-80 is no longer closed to westbound traffic at Truckee and eastbound traffic at Baxter as the suspect in a standoff has surrendered.
California Highway Patrol Chief Stan Perez said the suspect is a wanted felon whose car was stopped near Soda Springs.
Perez said the suspect had his wife and three kids, including an infant in the vehicle. Perez said the suspect released all four people safely before surrendering shortly before 11pm Wednesday.
Perez identified the suspect as Andrew Jason Rosas, but was unsure on the spelling of the suspect's last name.
The CHP said Rosas has multiple felony warrants for his arrest. CHP said Rosas led Sacramento County Sheriff officers on a high-speed chase that began in downtown Sacramento. Traffic was diverted out of the path of the chase, and a spike strip finally brought the car to a stop at Soda Springs, law enforcement said.
